Osmonics Purtrex Water Filter is a product which provides an extraordinary value for the general water filtering applications. It offers an exceptionally long life span, high purification levels and a low change-out frequency. The process of installing the Purtrex filter is quite simple. It is easy to install and does not require pre-rinsing. These filters are free from all anti-static agents as well as binders. Hence, there is no need for pre-rinsing them before use. The Purtrex Filters provide absolutely clean and foam free filtrate as it is made from one hundred percent pure polypropylene.

Purtrex Filters give out consistent filtrate after the process of filtration. This is because the thermally bonded fibers of the filter do not release any particles into the water. When under pressure, the unbonded strings of the media can separate, thus creating channels for the particles to pass. The polypropylene fibers of the Purtrex Filters are thermally bonded which keep the particles trapped inside the filter. Due to its composition from thermally bonded fibers, it maintains an unswerving lifetime and ends at 40 psid.

These Polypropylene Water Filters make use of a single material for the construction of its entire filter media, which is 100% polypropylene. These filters have a high chemical compatibility. The Purtrex Filters can be incinerated or compacted in order to trace ash for its easy disposal.

The polypropylene depth cartridge, offers a wide chemical compatibility and a very high dirt holding capacity. Its true graded density successfully captures the various particulates throughout the depth of the filter. High dirt holding capacity stands for a longer life span and few change-outs, translating into money saving.



The Purtrex Filters are available in a wide range of lengths and with various adapters. The standard length filter fits most water filter housings. Also, a wide range of polypropylene end caps and gaskets, along with extended cores and Osmonics patented polypropylene self seal springs are also available. These filters are manufactured by GE using thermally welded blown polypropylene micro-fibers. It is certified by Osmonics that these filters meet the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) drinking water requirements.
