Filtration media from the ECP series is pleated on sides of the polypropylene core that provides maximum strength; the ends of it are immersed in a thermo setting of vinyl plastisol. These cartridges provide high flow rates and have greater capacity to hold dirt, and increased mineral and particulates removal, while maintenance of low pressure drop. The color coded caps that are present according to the different rating of microns allows easy identification of cartridges.

The ECP series filter cartridges are highly resourceful water filters that use the innovative pleated cellulose polyester fibers for superior performance as compared to other competitive brand in the market. The pleated design of the filter provides more than 50 % media surface area than the rest of the filters and the material that is used in its manufacture are special formed from resin impregnated cellulose as well as fibers of polyester.

Many tests show that the Pentek ECP5-10 (formally CP-5) sediment filters can remove maximum amount of particulates from untreated water systems. The thermo setting is embedded and sealed with both ends of the plated block so that the components together can form a unitized end cap along with a gasket. The end caps are manufactured from vinyl plastisol material. The CP filters can be used within standard water temperature limits up to 125°F. It provides higher wet strength than other regular cellulose cartridges. It has minimal uploading and media migration features.

When the Pentek ECP5-10 5 micron sediment filter is compared with similar rated filter cartridges, it has much higher flow rates and maintain extremely lower pressure drops. This performance is exclusively possible due to the greater surface area in the filter and the superior quality of the material that are used in its manufacture.

The ECP different micron ratings can be easily identified by color coded end caps. This filter size is known as the standard, compatible with most filter housings on the market that require a standard 10'' water filter cartridge.
