The Pentair WP sediment filters use string wound design to provide great capacity in reducing fine sediments from water, a lot more than other models of water filters. The 155072-43 WP30 water filter is created with polypropylene cord that is wounded on sides of a rigid core made out of polypropylene. These efficient filter cartridges use 100% pure polypropylene fibers to provide superior performance. They are a great economic solution for reducing fine sediments including rust, sand, silt, and scale particles from the water.

The poly strings in the WP series are wounded in a precise pattern around the base core of the filter cartridges. This provides greater surface area compared to other filters. The result of more surface area is that it has a higher dirt loading capability than standard string wound cartridges such as the CW filter series.

The rate of micron (nominal) of the WP-30 polypropylene string wound filer cartridge is 30. These water filter cartridges are suited for many different sediment filtration needs, that include residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The filter has the capacity to withstand temperatures up to 73.9°C and still accommodates a decent flow rate of up to 10 gallons per minute. Its design provides filtration with minimal pressure drop, lesser frequent maintenance and improved sediment removal compared to other similar filters.

However, it shall not be used with water that is of unknown quality or is microbiologically unsafe and was not provided with proper pre or post disinfectant methods.

The Pentek WP30 sediment water filter can be identified by its precise pattern around the core of the string wounded design. This filter can be used with most filter housings from most manufacturers, that take cartridges of 251 mm x 60 mm.
