In the Pentek R30-BB, the filter media is pleated not for the sake of dirt resistance alone but also in order to extend the time span between cleaning or changes. Like other models in the R series pleated cartridges, the 155101-43 R30-BB Water Filter is also resistant to chemical attack as well as bacteria, which makes them suitable for residential, industrial and commercial uses and applications in a variety of ways.

The R series cartridges are made from a durable, reusable and non woven polyester fabric. The polyester adapts well for different filtration uses. The polyester enables it to be versatile and reusable, thus permitting different uses. The durable polyester cartridge resists chemicals and bacteria better than most.

The R30-BB purifier has a media which is pleated round a core made of polypropylene. This provides the cartridge with additional strength. The ends of the cartridge are attached to a vinyl plastisol with a thermo setting. Such effective sealing at the ends of the pleats ensure that the different components are bound together in a unified manner which forms one single unitized gasket and end cap. This whole sealing process is fortified with sonic welding which reduces internal bypass and improves filtration efficiency.

The user has to keep in mind that water which is of unknown quality or microbiologically unsafe or without proper disinfection, should not be used with the cartridge.
