The R50-BB water filter is a heavy duty cartridge designed to filter even rust coarse sand and scale particles. The reusable 50 micron double duty filter has a high dirt resistant capacity and is ideal for using with well water. This filter is a pleated polyester cartridge for sediment filtration.

One of the noted filter products of Pentek is the R series polyester pleated cartridge filters. The R series cartridges are made from a sturdy polyester which is non woven and reusable.

The Big Blue filters are usually approximately 4-1/2 inches wide, and this R50-BB is a 50 micron 4-1/2 inch wide heavy duty filter. The height of the filter is approx. 10 inch, 9-3/4'' specifically. It has a strong filtering mechanism, bolstered by the pleated polyester which produces healthier drinking water. The pleated design also helps maximize the dirt resisting capacity. This model is versatile and reusable, besides being extremely durable with effective chemical and bacteria resisting capacity.

As with the other models in the R series, the R50-BB water filter has a media which is pleated, coiling a polypropylene core. The pleated polyester provides added strength to the cartridge. The ends of the cartridge are also well sealed, as they are attached with vinyl plastisol which has a thermo setting. The components are sealed together to form a unitized gasket and end cap, with the help of sonic welding which reduces internal bypass.

The 155053-43 R50-BB water filter is resistant to chemical and bacterial attack, and also suited for residential, industrial and commercial applications. The user is however required to make sure that the cartridge filter is not used for microbiologically unsafe water, or if the water is not adequately disinfected.
