The Pentek P5- 478 series filters are highly efficient water purification filters that use the spun bonded-polypropylene water filter cartridges, for the purpose of purification. It is recognized for its superior performance. The cartridges, which are made out of 100% pure polypropylene fibers, help to provide healthier, better tasting drinking water than other comparable filters. The fibers are properly spun together with a suitable slope from the exterior to interior surfaces and are specially designed for chemical compatibility and purity. If used within the suggested temperature limit, they would not impart color or odors to the water that are being filtered.

The Pentek P5-478 spun bonded polypropylene filter is constructed in such a way, so that it can provide superior bacterial and chemical resistance along with great sediment filtration. Independent tests have shown that 99.9 % of particulates can be removed with this particular sediment filter. The strict measures for quality control that includes the production process and material qualification of the spun bonded filters have earned this filter the ISO-9001 registration which proofs that end users are getting a quality driven product.

The Pentek P5-478 5 micron sediment filter fits into the 5 inch housing along with other water filter system. This filter size is quite compatible with the Pentek filter housing along with the other competitive housing that requires 5 inches cylinder length.

When the Pentek P5-478 5 inch long 5 micron filter is compared, it is seen that the coreless strength that the cartridges of the filter has achieved is due to the numerous fibers that are inserted into a solid matrix. A thermal bonding technique is used in the manufacturing process of this filter. It is recommended that the water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality should not be used. It is experimented that this filter can remove twice the amount of sediments with the cartridges, when the mixture of water and dust is tested. It is due to the highly efficient spun bonded polypropylene fibers, which increase the surface area.
