As opposed to the traditional filter, the P series cartridges of Pentek are manufactured from pure polypropylene fibers. The P-5 series cartridges do not leave any odor, taste or color, provided they are used under the recommended temperature limits. The superior polypropylene helps the filters resist harmful bacterial attacks. The P5 polypropylene fibers are intricately spun to form gradient density between outer and inner surfaces.

The Pentek P5 sediment water filter also similarly includes a 100 % polypropylene cartridge. Also available as Ametek P5 and Culligan P5, etc. this sediment filter has a strong solid matrix base as the different spun fibers are held together.

The Pentek P5 sediment water filter has a 5 micron rating. It is capable of significantly reducing the extra fine dirt, sediment, sand, silt, scale particles and rust particles. Besides it is extremely resistant to corrosion and chemicals. As mentioned above regarding the general features of the products of Pentek, this model of P-5 sediment filter also has been designed for maintaining purity by enabling it with increased capacity of chemical and bacteria resistance.

The Pentek P5 sediment water filter as well as the Culligan P-5 model includes cartridges that fit into both reverse osmosis systems and the whole house filter systems. The dimensions of this model is a length of 9.875 (10) inch and a width of approximately 2.5 inch. While choosing this the model one needs to follow the instructions manual too. A a general rule, the P5 cartridge as a sediment water filter needs to be replaced every two months or after every eight thousand gallons of water.

The Pentek P5 sediment water filter cartridge shall be used within the range of temperature between 40° F (or 4.4°C) to 145°F (or 62°C). The P5 is created in a completely automated process. This ensures that the level of consistency and quality of service is always intact.
