This cartridge is manufactured with pleated cellulose media. It has been designed for all kinds of general water filtration use. Being pleated around a polypropylene core, the media provides extra strength and durability to the filter. Its ends are submerged inside the thermo-setting vinyl plastisol. Sealing and embedding of the end of each pleat in this way fuses these three components, thus leading to the formation of a unitized end cap as well as the gasket.

The 155001-43 S1 filter cartridge comprises of an external sheath which helps in retaining uniform spacing of the pleats in both pulsating flow streams as well as high flow. In order to reduce the bypass and improve the efficiency of filtration, the overlap seam is welded sonically. The S1 series filter cartridges have been priced very economically and with a micron rating of 20, they are also effective in reducing the sedimentary particles as small as 20 microns (nominal).

The pleated design of these filters work to maximize the dirt holding capacity of the filter. It is recommended that the water should be allowed to flow in the filter at the rate of 12 gallons per minute for optimum water treatment results.
