The CBR2-10 is a highly advanced multimedia water purification cartridge. This means that the unit is designed to not only reduce the taste of chlorine in the water, but also to remove any unpleasant odors. And this is not a short-term effect. The CBR2-10 improves tastes and reduces odors through an amazing 20,000 gallons of water at one gallon per minute. The CBR2-10 will also dissolve and particulate lead and mercury through at least 2,000 gallons of water at a rate of 0.6 gallons per minute. To further improve their effectiveness, the innovative design of this line of cartridges allows them to effectively remove several different types of cysts, MTBE, and even some volatile organic chemicals or VOCs.

The cartridge measures 9 3/4 inches by 2 7/8 inches and has and initial flow rate of 15.0 psi at 1 gallon per minute. It is also important to note that the CBR2-10 is designed to operate at temperatures ranging between 40 and 165 degrees Fahrenheit. MTBE is filtered out through 500 gallons at a rate of 0.6 gallons per minute, while VOCs are removed through 600 gallons at a rate of 0.6 gallons per minute.

For their protection the cartridges are covered with Endurawrap as a pre-filter. The Endurawrap by-product is a uniquely formulated polyolefin bilaminate pre-filter which is designed to lengthen the life of the cartridge. It does this by trapping the sediment particles that would typically clog a traditional purification cartridge. Less sediment means less clogging, and a longer product life.

The CBR2-10 not only reduces the lead content of the water, it also helps to block several types of harmful bacteria. This includes such common strains as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba, and Toxoplasma cysts. As these types of bacteria are harmful to humans, it is important to notes that tests have shown the cartridges to be 99.5% effective in blocking both the strains and the cysts. Also, the cartridge is designed to remove all fine sediment particles down to 0.5 microns. This means that you are guaranteed crisp clear water each and every time you turn the tap.

The reason that this particular cartridge is so effective is found in its design. The CBR2-10 is made through a patented process that combines powdered activated carbon, or PAC, with an agent that has been specifically engineered to absorb lead and reduce mercury. This carefully engineered design is what makes cartridge work so well. Each piece has been specially created to form the best possible end product.
