The Pentek CBC-5 water filter cartridges are very proficient in reducing unwanted taste, color and odor from potable drinking water. Several researches based on the manufacturers internal testing proved that the Pentek CBC-5 filter has the capacity to remove 99.5% of Entamoeba, Giardia and Toxoplasma cysts from the filtered water. The CBC series also makes excellent pre filters and polishing filters in an application that requires high capacity and fine filtration. It is strictly advised that the water that is of unknown quality and is not provided with adequate disinfectant should not be used. Also avoid the water that is microbiologically unsafe.

The Pentek CBC-5 carbon filter cartridges might contain fine particles of carbon. Therefore it is advised that when a brand new cartridge is installed, it should be flushed with ample amount of water so that the traces can be removed from the system before the water is capable of drinking. Each time the filter is used, it is advisable that the tap is run for at least 20 seconds prior to its use.
