This GAC filter cartridge contains carbon. As the filtered water passes through one end of the cartridge, it goes ahead and spreads through out the whole carbon bed until it exits through the other end. For better performance an expansion pad is included, so that channeling and bypassing is minimized. While flowing through the carbon bed, an additional 20 micron post filter reduces fine suspended particles from the filtered water. The post filter is attached permanently and secured firmly to ensure no bypassing at all.

The 155249-43 GAC-20BB has been well known for usage within whole house water filter systems and has dramatically improved its performances within the last couple of years. The cartridges of GAC series are made from granular activated carbon bed, which are highly effective and use the innovative 20 micron post filters for superior performance. It is very much resourceful for reducing the taste of chlorine, irregular color and bad odor from filtered water.

These carbon filters have increased capability of sediment removal and carbon filtration, and require less frequency maintenance. These filters are specially designed for maximum amount of absorption.

This granular activated carbon filter would easily fit into any high Big Blue water filter system for whole house or any other commercial filtration system. When a fresh cartridge is about to be installed, it is very useful to rinse through a good amount of water, to get rid of carbon fines. It is advised that the water be flushed for at least 20 seconds before using the filtered water for drinking or consumption.

GAC-20BB carbon filter cartridges can be used with any Big Blue housing that requires a 4-1/2 inch wide x 20 inch length cartridge.
