Activated carbon is the primary material that is used in the KX Matrikx carbon block water treatment 10/2 Filter. "The Only Choice". These have several advantages from the standard activated carbon, like their ability to reduce disinfectants and soaking up organic chemicals, which is essential as both these contribute bad taste in potable water.

Materials used in the manufacture of 10/2 carbon filter cartridges are tested and certified by the NSF International. The KX extruded activated carbon filter can easily replace granular activated carbon filters and powered activated carbon filters. It surpasses the performance of similar rates water filtration systems. Unlike, the PAC/GAC water filters, there is no bypass and channeling, releasing or fluidizing of carbon fines.

Independent tests have shown that the Kx 10-250-190-975 carbon block water filter delivers 98% average reduction of chlorine and bad taste or odor from filtered water @ 1.0 Gallons Per Minute. The 10/2 carbon block water filter uses a KX Matrikx patented solid state extrusion process for its manufacture. This process results into strong filter construction and enhance greater capacity of dirt holding.

Testing also proved that the 10-250-190-975 carbon block water filter 10 micron removes 99.5% particles and sediments for water system. The life and services of this particular filer is extended by providing it with a layer of pre filtration medium.

The filter should be replaced according to the instruction provided with the housing, and it is recommended that the cartridges be flushed with ample amount of water for a minimum 5 minutes prior to its use. The filter should only be used with water that is provided with adequate disinfectant and is microbiologically safe, since the carbon activated filter is not designed to remove and kill virus and bacteria.

Matrikx 10250190975 carbon filter is deigned to fit most household and low commercial as well as industrial housings. It can be used in most standard filter housing that require 2-1/2 by 10 inch filters.
