The New Millennium Reverse Osmosis Water Filter provides optimal performance for safe fresh drinking water. As with any 5 stage RO unit, the Millennium pre filter would protect the core system and shall be changed most often. The First stage filter should be replaced when the outside discolors (to a brownish color) long before the inner core of the filter discolors. As self understood, the Pre-Filter life depends on condition of the source water supply and should be checked at regular intervals until a standard filter life for your area is established (average is 3 to 6 months). Always make sure that the o-rings of the housings are set properly inside canister sumps, before tightening the unit (by hand only). STAGE 1. Open the RO faucet to let the air of the system release (Allow couple of minutes). Remove the reverse osmosis water filter housings by turning the sump counter-clockwise. Remove the old used filters, and clean the RO filter housings with mild soap and water solution. Before replacing, check the o-rings for deterioration. If it needs replacement, do so. Lubricate the o-rings with a water based silicone lubricant (not Vaseline). Insert the new water filters to the housings and mount them in to right position. Ensure that the o-rings are inserted properly. Do not use the wrench to close the sump. Tighten by hand only. If you over tighten, cracks and leaks may occur.
