Hardness particles that are present in the water leave behind deposits when the water is heated. But the scale of PCC1 looks after this fact and removes hard particles from the water up to 15 grains per gallon. All its metal parts consist of a protective layer that fights against the hardness and acidity of the water and thus, saves the pipes and other equipments from corrosion. It handles dissolved iron up to 1 ppm to the water. This iron is kept suspended in the solution so that it can not precipitate and lead to discoloration of water.

PCC1 is one of the technologically advanced systems of water purification in the PCC series, manufactured by Pentair, and introduced by Ahdorma. This water purifier is specifically structured for use with the different gadgets like ice machines, food processors and the like. The basic motive behind the development of PCC1 filter is to minimize the chances of corrosion of the machines that can occur by the water if it is kept stored in them for a long period.

The cartridges of PCC1 have food grade hexametaphosphate that are soluble and get easily dissolved in water. This sort of treatment is done to prevent the corrosion and rusting of the appliances and storage places where the water is going to be kept for long duration. So, apart from purification of the liquid, this PCC1 performs one additional function of preserving the storage or processing machines as well.

PCC series includes various models of water processors which differ in the flow rate and the size of the filter. PCC-1 is one of them and especially, is ideal for homes and small cafeterias where the drinking or water needs are not very big. They are suggested to be connected or installed within the machines. The model is FDA certified that further improves its quality and acceptability.

Its structure is similar to other purifiers of Pentek. It is long cylindrical in shape and is equipped with two filters. The first filter is made up of Food Grade Polyphosphate while another one is made up of polypropylene.
