And every fiber is exactly the same, having the same strength and lifespan. Therefore, if constant pressure is applied to the Purtrex polydepth filters, all the fibers will react in the same way, ensuring consistent performance of all filters of the same type, no matter which manufacturing batch they originally belonged to.

Because the filter basically just contains thermally bonded fibers, which are all made of exactly the same material in exactly the same way, no other material is used in the manufacture of the entire filter. That makes it very easy to decide which chemicals and substances are compatible with Purtrex filters. Other types of filters might use so many different types of materials, that it becomes hard to match the right filter for the right job. If only one chemical used in the filter, even if a resin or binder reacts to any substance in the filtrate, the whole filter cannot be used for your application anymore.

Disposal becomes easier as well, if you are only dealing with one known material in your old filters. You can either compact the filters or dispose of them that way or you incinerate them to trace ash.

Osmonics GE has certified that Purtrex Depth filters are fully compliant with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Title 21 of The Code of Federal Regulations 174.5 and 177.1520. This means that you can use these filters for any application involving food and beverages. Purtrex filters are also appropriate for use by reverse osmosis RO, and other industry related businesses.
