With the huge demand of extremely effective and exceptionally good quality filters Osmonics has gone beyond its patent rights to deliver pure polypropylene depth filters. It has enormous dirt holding capacity and the ability to provide sub micron filtration.

Purtex is economical where long run is required and the demand for micron filtration and fewer changes are expected. One of the great ideas is "Polyester Plus" materials which are used in the filter and provides a consistent quality and longer life. They facilitate very fine particles, dirt and mineral filtration with long life and they require less change of filters. The cartridge is made up of thermally bonded fibers which keeps the dirt and contaminated particles intact even when the water is passed through it at high pressure. This is advantageous in comparison to the others where non polypropylene bonds tend to make channels under pressure, thereby releasing the particles and effective filtration becomes a failure.

Great demand of the filters yield frequent manufacturing and ensures frequent quality check. To enable a filter to function effectively for a longer time, it is mandatory to maintain a consistent pressure as drop in pressure results in release of particles which is generally seen in string wound filters. As Purtrex filters are made up of thermally-bonded fibers they maintain a consistent pressure differential ending at 40 psid (2.8 bar), thus giving more life to the filter.

Purtrex water filters also have added features like easy handling, chemically compatible, will not drift, shrivel or defy. The pleated filter design provides more than half the surface area than other filters and usage of engineered Polyester Plus material makes it stand tall as compared to its competitors.

The filters are made up of complete polypropylene cartridge which provides a low pressure drop and extremely effective dirt and mineral removal with longer life. The thermal bonding process which joins the Polyester Plus material to the end caps removes high density dirt particles thereby enabling the filter with high efficiency and strong manufacturing base. The material used is FDA approved and ANSI/NSF-61 certified. It is also environment safe as the trace ash which is the reminiscence of the filter can be easily disposed. When tested upon highly contaminated water it was found that the filter could hold more than twice the weight of the particles as compared to its competitors.
