Purtrex depth filter cartridges are created from blown micro-fibers of polypropylene which are thermally welded. Purtrex cartridges filter are certified by GE Osmonics to meet the filter material requirements as determined by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) title 21 of The Code of Federal Regulation 174.5 and 177.1520.

Due to the cartridges being made by thermally bonded fibers in a non stop process, they perform consistently till 40 psid (2.8 bar) the lifetime limit. Purtrex poly depth cartridges contrasted with string wound filters perform more consistently to string wound filters which perform inconsistent as it varies with varying pressures, thus not giving the filtration needed.

The benefits of Purtex filter cartridges do not stop there, the cartridges are constructed from a single material: 100% polypropylene. Filters using a string wound structure have a core, string, antistatic agent, some binder or resins (in some cases), these items can conflict with the filtration process and even the final filter disposal.

Because Purtrex cartridges constitute of hundred percent polypropylene fibers that offer wider chemical compatibility as compared to string wound filters. Purtrex filters polypropylene fibers also make it easy to dispose off; it can be compacted and even be incinerated to ash.

Pure polypropylene construction through thermally bonded mocrofibers makes Purtex cartridges free from any wetting agents, solvents, antistatic agents or binders; unlike the string wound filters. These qualities give the filters a wider chemical compatibility. In addition, Purtrex filters come with true grade density and capture particles throughout it's filter depth. The filter is constructed with lower density at the surface of the filter for large particles and moves to higher density for finer particles as we move towards the centre. Unlike others cartridges, Purtrex cartridges have no surface blinding; surface blinding reduces the flow, and ability to filter effectively. Thus Purtrex depth cartridges need a lesser number of filter cartridge changes.

Polypropylene filter cartridges may also be helpful in saving money. Since they have a higher dirt holding capacity, a lesser number of filter changes is needed.

If all these great features like: 100% percent polypropylene fiber construction, wider chemical capability, money saving, consistent performance at varying pressures and many more were not enough, the product is easy to install too. No counting the strings or trying to remember the sequence; the packaging carton and labeled filters make the change out easy.
