Purtrex filters are produced by GE Osmonics, with patented melt blown micro-fiber technology. They are 100 percent pure polypropylene depth filters with an exceptional capacity of dirt holding. The various application of Purtrex are, portable water filtration, planting baths, chemical filtration, and amine filtration. Polypropylene is the material that is used in its manufacture of the filtration media, and it some cases also the end caps and adapters.

The Purtrex poly depth water filter cartridges are made from thermally bonded fibers of polypropylene. It is certified by GE water, that no lubricants, resin binders or antistatic or any other additives are used in the manufacture of those cartridges. They are designed to resist a wide range of chemical solutions. Purtrex provides an exceptional value for the general applications where high purity, lower change out frequency and long life is required.

It is quite easy to install the Purtrex cartridges and does not require pre rinsing, since they are free from antistatic agents. This helps to decrease labor and down time and increase production time. It has the capacity to hold particles and trap them in the filter even if it is under pressure. There is no surface blinding, which results into reduced flow and increase filter change outs. There is a consistent quality of flow rate in its entire life time and has a uniform life time. There is also no leachables or extractables in the construction of the pure polypropylene. Automated, consistent manufacturing process assures reliable performance and repeatable results, and the thermal and vacuum finishing procedures eliminate possible manufacturing debris.



A true graded density filter matrix which is the case with these filters, means, there is lower density at the surface of the filter and progressively higher density towards the center. It helps to capture particles throughout the entire lengths of the filter and results into an extended life compared to other resin bonded or string wounded filters. The Purtex filters are polypropylene filter which are made of significantly continuous fibers.

The standard length of Purtex filters easily fits in most of the housings, while customized length are also available. There is a wide range of polypropylene end caps and adapters that includes gaskets and extended cores.
